ABOUT EXHIBITION
Erwin Wyjadłowski - ,,... moja jest tylko racja...,” is the title of the exhibition of the Kraków based artist whose paintings focus on the past in order to discuss the present and all things timeless. His works have been inspired by the shots of Spartakiadas organized by the Soviet Union as the Olympic games for the working people or Grand Mass Gymnastic and Arirang Festival – the fetes celebrating dance and sport in North Korea, organized for propaganda reasons. Wyjadłowski uses multiplied individual as the decorative pattern whose biggest strength and weakness is passiveness, total resignation and rejecting any responsibility. Behind the elusive order, there is enslavement. In other cases, the artist is „giving away” the white spaces of canvass to the figures, and they act as stages enabling them to prove their rationales with the help of strength and brutality. All works are linked by questions about us as individuals and as groups, about our truths and choices made in the name of… whom? what?
